PreferUS Healthcare is a hospital consulting, management and investment services company formed in 2008 to deliver western healthcare services to the China healthcare market. With an initial focus on orthopedic and cardiovascular services, PreferUS broadened its offering to include hospital management services as the China regulatory environment became more accepting of western healthcare management companies.
The PreferUS partnership companies include U.S. based Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Oklahoma Heart Hospital, Texas Back Institute and Kerlan-Jobe Orthopedic Clinic as well as China based, Fosun, Capital Healthcare Group, Guolong, FAHSU and BangEr. PreferUS will leverage the reputations and assets of our diverse array of partners to expand our service offerings to other clinical areas.
Since 2008, PreferUS has been cultivating relationships with China’s most senior orthopedic professors who have been instrumental in key introductions to China healthcare leaders as well as China hospital partnership opportunities. Additionally, PreferUS has identified a talented group of high reputation China physicians who will partner with our western physicians to service the Chinese patient. Along with our major institutional partners, over 100 U.S. physician investor partners have committed to play a role ranging from surgical slots in China to training in the U.S. or China. Our nine years of learning the China healthcare environment, has driven the expansion of both our U.S. and China based management teams.
Today, PreferUS has five major China-side partners with several more in the development stage. Beginning with a 7-year VIP Center partnership within a prominent public hospital, PreferUS added a partnership with a successful private orthopedic chain hospital group and then secured a combined equity and management services partnership with a multi-hospital ownership group. These initial projects led to a hospital design and management partnership with a leading China state owned enterprise and to our latest partnership to establish a hospital management and consulting JV company with Sungin, a Fosun company.
PreferUS continued the build out of our China side execution team
with the hiring of a U.S. hospital executive with over 25 years of U.S.
healthcare experience. As a full time resident of Shanghai our Executive
Vice President of China Operations, Ken Howell, oversees our China team
expansion and will also bring a multitude of resources from the U.S.
As we go forward, PreferUS expects the China healthcare market to continue to evolve and, as a result, we will continue to expand our offerings and adjust our model. Accompanied with an embracing regulatory environment and a deep pool of resources from our committed partner companies, PreferUS is well positioned for success in the China marketplace.
