In October of 2016, five specialists were sent to the U.S. for training with their partner, PreferUS Healthcare. They returned to work in April of 2017. Prior to their extended four-month individual training at the PreferUS Training Center partners, the 5 doctors participated in an in-depth English training course for two-months at the PreferUS Headquarters in Kansas City.

In April of 2017, after their six months of training in the U.S., they returned to Yinchuan and were asked to share their study experiences with their hospital staff. Dr. Shuju Zhang (Internal Medicine), Dr. Cunsai Zhao (Spine Surgery), Dr. Zhanwen Zhou (Foot & Ankle Surgery), Dr. Tai Teng (Joint Surgery) and Dr. Ningbo Sun (Obstetrician & Gynecologist) all gave in-depth presentations with the purpose of educating the staff on how vast the differences are between the U.S. and China healthcare systems. Each specialist had a wonderful experience and spoke highly of the PreferUS training centers as well as the English training course that better prepared them for their journey.

Mr. Ken Howell, a hospital management expert, who recently joined the Guolong hospital’s management team, and Dr. Dawna Cato, a nursing management expert, also participated in the presentation. Dr. Cato has traveled to Yinchuan twice in the last six weeks to educate the nursing staff throughout the Guolong Hospital. Dr. Cato explained, "Going abroad to study in US is not easy. I hope everyone would appreciate the opportunity. She continued “I also left the United States for the first time. Fortunately, when I came to Yinchuan, I was able to work with this high professional-level, rich-working and passionate nursing team in Guolong Hospital. I believe we will have very good cooperation!"
